Wroxeter

The Hayloft sits on the edge of the village of Wroxeter right in the heart of Shropshire with excellent links to the motorway network via the M54. Wroxeter was once the site of the fourth largest Roman settlement in Great Britain known as Viriconium. Today the whole village is designated as part of an ancient monument. At the other end of the village is the English Heritage visitor center where you can see the 7 metre high basilica wall which is the largest piece of free standing Roman wall in the country as well as a reconstructed a Roman townhouse which was completed in 2010 as part of a project with Channel 4.
